Resolute Health To Hold Job Fair, Offering Sign-On Bonuses

New Braunfels, TX – Fortunately, New Braunfels has seen a drop in its unemployment rate with the holidays fast approaching. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported improved figures for the city of 7.8 percent in September 2020 from the previous 13.3 percent in April 2020 when the pandemic began to grip Texas.

However, since mid-March across the state, nearly 3.7 million Texans have applied for unemployment insurance, more than in all of 2019.

Resolute Health Hospital is working hard to help keep the New Braunfels community and economy healthy and strong, especially with the pandemic looming and flu season underway.

Just before the holidays, Resolute Health Hospital will hold a Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at its facility at 555 Creekside Crossing, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130.

Resolute, which is part of the Baptist Health System in San Antonio, is looking to recruit Patient Care Assistants (PCA) and PRNs or pro re nata staff, a Latin term that means “as needed” staff. Individuals with at least one year of job-related experience who are hired will be eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

The system as a whole is looking to fill 55 full-time and three part-time PCA positions and 13 PRN positions.

New hires have the opportunity to work at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels or any of the system’s five hospitals in San Antonio:

The goal of the job fair is two-fold, Lemus said
  • Baptist Medical Center downtown;
  • Northeast Baptist Hospital off of Loop 410 (between the airport and I-35 corridor);
  • North Central Baptist Hospital in Stone Oak;
  • St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in the Medical Center and
  • Mission Trail Baptist Hospital on the Southside
“Not only do we want to help match those in need of jobs with what we have to offer, but we are also helping prepare our community and our hospitals for the winter months when a potential surge in flu cases or COVID-19 spikes could occur. Our No. 1 priority is the safety of our community, patients, and staff, and we’re taking steps now to ensure we have added resources to serve all.”Kristen Lemus, chief nursing office for Baptist Health System

All hiring events will comply with CDC safety guidelines requiring masks and social distancing. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the hospital recruitment teams and hiring leaders and learn more about jobs offered and what makes Baptist Health System an employer of choice.

Lemus said that even during the pandemic, it is important to connect with potential candidates who will be critical to ensuring the community’s well-being.

“We want to provide job opportunities to those who are seeking work in these areas,” she said. “These jobs are critical to assisting our nursing staff in providing excellent care to our patients. These roles are vital for future healthcare heroes to fill. They will positively impact the healthcare of our citizens now and post-pandemic,” Lemus said.

Those interested in applying can do so in person on the following days, times, and locations. For more information, call the Resolute Health Hospital Human Resources Office at 830-500-4870.
