Rio Claro Studio, the intimate fine art gallery/concept space in downtown San Marcos, announce their lineup for Wine + Art Walk Weekend 2016, April 29th through May 1st.
The weekend kicks off with the Wine + Art Walk in downtown San Marcos Texas from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Wine enthusiasts from all over Central Texas will start their journey at the Hays County Courthouse before winding their way through town visiting 15 downtown shops who’ll be showcasing at least one artist. Rio Claro Studio will feature local artist Karen Cross along with the work of their gallery artists; ranging from fine art to jewelry to limited editions.
Visitors to the gallery will sample food and wine pairings before moving onto their next stop. Tickets are $25 presale and $30 at event and is 21+ – for more info, go to: http://bit.ly/1qyYRBc.
Saturday morning, April 30th, from 10am – 12 pm is Mug-Up at Rio Claro Studio. Quickly becoming a favorite place to meet the last Saturday of every month, Mug-Up is a community building activity started here by owners Gigi Mederos and Stevie Black as a way to talk about events and issues that matter across diverse community lines. Saturday, April 30th from 12-6 pm, Rio Claro Studio features artist Karen Cross for a trunk show, where she will show her paper dresses, assemblage, hand painted tea towels, pouches and pillows, textile bracelets and upholstered chairs.
Also on Saturday, the Heritage Home Tour begins which is a self-guided tour of San Marcos’ residential historic districts from 12-5 pm. Benefiting the preservation of San Marcos’ historical districts, this year’s tour features “talking houses” and ecological inspirations. Tickets are $15 pre-sale / $20 at the door.
