Road Construction Projects Affecting San Marcos Traffic August 23-29, 2015

LOOP ST: As part of the City’s new pavement management program to provide preventative maintenance to the City streets, mill and asphalt overlay maintenance is in progress on Hazelton Street from Loop Street to Perkins Street and Alto from Loop Street to Viola Street. Project is scheduled to last 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your expense. City of San Marcos Street Dept., 512.393.8036

500 BLOCK PATTON: All lanes in both directions will be closed for a sanitary sewer rehabilitation on Aug. 24-28 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Insituform Technologies, LLC 713.845.3016
KNOX ST/GUADALUPE ST: Installation of a box culvert will require all lanes in both directions to be closed on Aug.25 – 28. Smith Contracting, 512.694.2552
213 N. LBJ: A student event will be held at the alley on 213 N. LBJ with a one lane closure for Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. 830.237.1523
COMANCHE ST: Rotating lane closures with at least one lane traffic will be open during construction for the manhole and leveling project on Woods St. to Sessom Dr. from Aug. 26 – 27 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8036
401 FREDERICKSBURG ST: Several parking spaces will be closed periodically on N. Fredericksburg, Lindsey, N. Comanche, and Pat Garrison Streets, for exterior painting Aug. 14 – Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. LCG, Inc. 512.750.3393
1549 McCARTY LANE TO 2601 RATTLER RD: The United States Air Force will host Rattlesnake Run and 5K from E. McCarty Lane around to Guadalupe Street, S. Old Bastrop Hwy, Cerro Vista Drive and ending back at McCarty on Aug. 22 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. AFJROTC, 334.322.4279
300-400 BLOCK OF STAGECOACH TRAIL: One lane going west bound will be closed for construction of a new westbound lane through Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cox Commercial Construction, 512.848.4446
TxDOT HUNTER ROAD (FM 2439) PROJECT: Two way traffic has been restored between Dixon and Bishop Street. Various lane closures will continue on Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street will through the Fall 2015 for road, bridge, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian improvements. HWY 80 FROM CLAREWOOD TO IH-35: TxDot is widening SH 80 from Clarewood to IH-35 to allow a second left lane for traffic traveling from SH 80 to South IH-35. Construction will last approximately three months, weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.924.1715
NORTH LBJ AT YOUNGER: Younger will remain closed until the end of August 2015 in conjunction with the N. LBJ reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Younger Street can be accessed from Chestnut during this time. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
  • NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
  • 1500 BLOCK N LBJ: One lane going north bound will be closed for lift station improvements on July 22, 2015 through April 21, 2016. Prota Construction, Inc. 787-528-3171
  • MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
  • NORTH LBJ: Until August of 2015. Reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Motorists will be detoured one way northbound on LBJ from Forest to Holland Streets and will use Chestnut as a southbound route during construction. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
