The San Marcos Main Street Program is seeking nominations for the 2018 Love Downtown Awards honoring downtown businesses and volunteers for their contributions throughout the year.

Nominations are being accepted for Business of the Year, New Business of the Year and Downtown Legend of the Year. The kick-off for nominations began at the San Marcos Chamber Business Expo and will continue to be accepted until Oct. 15.

Honorees will be selected by a nomination committee and announced at the Love Downtown Awards ceremony at the Hays County Courthouse on Nov. 9.

This year’s awards will celebrate the Main Street Program’s 32 years of growing and developing downtown San Marcos. Nominations will be considered by the strides that honorees have made to carry out Main Street’s vision for downtown: “To foster a downtown that is a unique and culturally vibrant destination, where local businesses thrive and people of all ages can connect, create and celebrate.”

Last year’s winners include Blue Dahlia Bistro for New Business of the Year and The Bloom Bar for Business of the Year. Ault & Ault Orthodontics received the Legend Business of the Year.

The Main Street Program’s Love Downtown Awards ceremony is free and open to the public.
