UPDATED Jan. 3: San Marcos Addresses Water Service Outage At Blanco River Subdivision, San Marcos Regional Airport And Gary Job Corps

According to the city, the outage was caused by “a main water break.” As of 8:45 AM, crews were on route to evaluate the damage.

UPDATE JAN 3: The test results are in, and Blanco River Village is free to use water normally. The city will receive test results for Gary Job Corps and the airport tomorrow.

City officials said they had received a lot of inquiries from residents concerned about whether or not they are under a boil notice.

Areas that were affected by the water outage yesterday were under a precautionary boil advisory. These areas were the Blanco River Village neighborhood, the San Marcos Regional Airport, and Gary Job Corps.

Residents and businesses not in any of these areas can consume water as usual.

If individuals live or work in Blanco River Village, they are advised to boil their water as a precautionary measure until 5 pm today, Jan 3. The airport or Gary Job Corps are advised to boil their water until noon tomorrow, Jan. 4.

UPDATE: Water has been restored to Blanco River Village. According to the San Marcos Regional Airport officials, repairs are underway and are estimated to be completed at 5:00 PM. 

Wednesday morning, the city of San Marcos announced a water outage had been reported for the Blanco River Subdivision, San Marcos Regional Airport and Gary Job Corps Center.

According to the city, the outage was caused by “a main water break.” As of 8:45 AM, crews were on route to evaluate the damage.

Airport officials said they anticipate the repairs to take several hours. However, the City of San Marcos has not released an official estimation on when service will be restored.
