I-35 AT SH 123 — SAN MARCOS

I-35 AT SH 123

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project activity includes improvements to the northbound and southbound I-35 frontage roads and bridges at the San Marcos River and the reconstruction of the SH 123/I-35 intersection and C.M. Allen Parkway exit.

TxDOT anticipates periodic closures of the river at I-35 to complete the work. Recreational users along the San Marcos River will be notified in advance of any closures via shore signs and can sign up for additional project updates

The estimated project cost is $107 million and is funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction commenced in August 2021 and its anticipated completion in early 2025, weather permitting. Webber, LLC is the contractor for this project.

Anticipated construction completion: early 2025, weather permitting.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING — KYLE

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconfigure the northbound entrance/exit ramps between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing. The improvements include reversing the northbound entrance/exit ramps, reconstructing the northbound frontage road, adding new extended lanes between entrance/exit ramps, and constructing a new frontage road bridge over Plum Creek.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020, and its anticipated completion is early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

Anticipated construction completion: early 2022, weather permitting.

OVERVIEW | Work includes relocating the existing northbound I-35 entrance ramp, constructing a new northbound exit ramp, reconstructing the northbound frontage road, and adding a new extended entrance/exit lane.

The estimated construction cost is $14 million funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction commenced in January 2021, and its anticipated completion in mid-2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

Anticipated construction completion: mid-2022, weather permitting.

OVERVIEW |
The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive and the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. The I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for a smoother merge onto I-35.

This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016, with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

Anticipated construction completion: mid-2021, weather permitting.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST — AUSTIN

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW |
This project includes main lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

The construction commenced in January 2018, with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams.

Anticipated construction completion: early 2022, weather permitting.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE — AUSTIN

OVERVIEW |
Reduced congestion, improved mobility at Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

This project’s estimated construction cost is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and CAMPO with an estimated $24.6 million cost.

Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.

Anticipated construction completion: early 2022, weather permitting.

All closures are weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane daily at Parmer Lane.
Sunday, Feb. 6 through Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Eastbound and westbound Parmer Lane closed at I-35.
Thursday, Feb. 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
