San Marcos Announces Family-Friendly Holiday Activities In Downtown

The San Marcos Main Street Program has kicked off its annual Season’s Greetings from the Downtown campaign by opening the holiday mailbox in Kissing Alley until Friday, Jan. 1.

A holiday selfie installation was also recently unveiled at the Downtown Mobility Hub, 214 E. Hutchison Street, and the public is encouraged to visit and experience the magic of holiday lights and festive banners.

“There’s always something happening in Downtown San Marcos for the holidays,” said Downtown Coordinator Josie Falletta. “We invite you to send your loved ones a handwritten letter from Kissing Alley and stop by the Downtown Mobility Hub to snap the perfect holiday selfies.”

To mail a letter, participants must properly address the envelope, apply postage, and drop the letter in the mailbox. Main Street staff will receive the letters and imprint a customized hallmark that reads “Sent from Kissing Alley.”

Anyone can participate in this local activity, and there is no limit to the number of holiday letters a participant may send. The Kissing Alley mailbox will be up until New Year’s Day for use; however, Main Street encourages participants to drop their letters in the box by Wednesday, Dec. 23.

There is no guarantee of letters being received by New Year’s Day if they are dropped in the mailbox after Dec. 23. For more information, contact jfalletta@sanmarcostx.gov.
