After a thorough search process, the City of San Marcos is naming Jeanne Saadi the new Animal Services Manager for the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter.
Saadi most recently served as the Animal Services Manager for the City of Mesquite, Texas, and has 20 years of experience in animal welfare and care, both in the non-profit sector and in local government.
“We’re excited to have Jeanne join our team and bring the success she had in Mesquite to our shelter,” said Interim Director of Public Safety Chase Stapp. “We have a dedicated staff who work daily to increase live outcomes and find families for our adoptable pets and Jeanne is the right person to lead this group.”
In Mesquite, Saadi helped manage a shelter with over 5,000 animals per year in a city with 150,000 citizens.
Saadi and her team have increased Mesquite’s Live Release Rate from the high 50s to over 90 percent within 18 months of her arrival.
She previously held progressively responsible positions in San Antonio Animal Care Services and in Santa Barbara County Animal Services (Goleta, CA).
Saadi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Augustana College and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University.
Saadi will begin her new role as the Animal Services Manager on February 10, 2020.
