San Marcos Based A Cappella Unlimited Win First Place At Regional Competition 3rd Consecutive Year

San Marcos, TX — A Cappella Unlimited, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, participated in the 58th Annual Gulf Coast Region 10 Competition last weekend and walked away with a first place Division A title and a third place Overall title.

The 24-member women’s chorus achieved a score of 596 out of 800, the highest overall score in the chorus history.

A Cappella Unlimited was chartered in 2011 and competed in the Great Gulf Coast Region for the first time in the Spring of 2012. Since that time the chorus has placed first in their division six times.

Their members come from all over the central Texas area from Georgetown to Boerne, Lakeway and San Marcos to rehearse at Texas State University. They range in age from their 20s to their 70s.

A Cappella Unlimited is always looking for new members to join their chorus. They have open rehearsals every Monday from 7:00 PM-10:00 PM at the Texas State Music Building Room 214. For more information visit www.acappellaunlimited.org.
