The San Marcos CISD and all of its campuses earned Met Standard ratings for the 2015-2016 school year, according to information released by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on August 15, 2016. Met Standard is the highest accountability rating given to public school districts and schools for meeting state performance targets in areas such as student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps, and postsecondary readiness.
The current accountability system is based on results from State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams in grades 3-8 and End-of-Course (EOC) exams. TEA oversees the accountability ratings for more than 1,200 school districts and schools across Texas.
