San Marcos CISD offering COVID-19 Booster Shot incentive to employees

SAN MARCOS – The San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (SMCISD) is offering their employees a $100 incentive for receiving the COVID-19 booster shot.
 
Andrew Fernandez, SMCISD Executive Director of Communications said that the district plans to give their staff until April 1 to turn in a copy of their vaccination card to show proof of the booster. The district anticipates to pay employees the $100 incentive on April 30, 2022.
 
“The Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Cardona continue to have the safety of our students and staff at the forefront throughout this pandemic,” said Fernandez.
 
This is the second incentive SMCISD has offered to vaccinated employees, a $250 stipend was offered to employees with the vaccine in October. According to data presented to the school board, about 82% or over 1,000 of SMCISD staff is already vaccinated against COVID-19.
