San Marcos City Council To Hold Budget Workshop, Two Public Hearings Thursday

On Thursday, the San Marcos City Council will hold a special meeting to receive a presentation and hold a discussion regarding the proposed Fiscal Year 2019-2020 budget.

Staff will provide council members with an overview of the FY 2020 budget and address any revisions or questions City Council made in the budget workshops held in June.

According to the agenda, the budget process begins in the spring with the formation of the budget policy, and a preliminary budget is presented to the council during workshops in June.

Council will hold public hearings and further discussions regarding the proposed budget throughout August and the first part of September. The budget is slated to be adopted on September 17, according to the agenda.

In other news, the council will also hold two public hearings Thursday to receive public comments for or against the annexation of two properties in the Barnette O. Kane Survey totaling approximately 195 acres.

The San Marcos City Council will convene for a special meeting at 5:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at San Marcos City Hall.
