San Marcos City Council To Hold Special Meeting Tonight

Tonight, the San Marcos City Council will hold a special meeting to receive an update and discuss the agreement with Texas Disposal Systems Inc.

The agenda was posted last Wednesday without an agenda packet. However, a draft resolution for approval of the agreement was attached to the agenda.

The change in service agreement for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable material if approved will extend the city’s agreement for five years for an estimated amount of $400,000 per year.

The council is not slated for any action Tuesday on the agreement. The special meeting will be held at 4:00 PM virtually and broadcasted live on TV and the city’s website.

In other news, City Manager Bert Lumbreras is slated to provide the council with an update on the progress of negotiations with Hays County regarding Capes Dam and the Mill Race on Oct. 7.

The presentation will take place 3:00 PM on the 7th. As of yet, no backup material is available.
