Free Brush Drop Off and Mulching (weather permitting) for San Marcos residential garbage & recycling customers (please bring your utility bill). Enter at San Marcos Animal Shelter, 750 River Road, and follow the signs.  Held second Saturday of each month (weather permitting) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Every Second Saturday Series, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., San Marcos Nature Center 430 Riverside Drive.  Become a Texas Parks & Wildlife Certified Angler Instructor. FREE workshop that teaches you how to teach others to fish, and introduces participants to the resources available from TPWD. Nature Center staff will keep the kids entertained with holiday crafts and activities while parents get a chance to finish up last minute shopping or attend a holiday party. Christmas Holiday, City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Library, Activity Center, Municipal Building, Animal Shelter, Household Hazardous Waste Center and Electric Utility, will be closed for the Christmas holiday. Offices will reopen at regular hours on Dec. 26. Texas Disposal Systems will collect Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday routes as usual and will slide Thursday and Friday routes to the next day.

City Clerk’s Office, 630 E Hopkins, will be closed in accordance with Bureau of Vital Statistics DSHS closure; and San Marcos Municipal Court at the Hays County Government Center, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail, will be closed in accordance with the Hays County facility holiday schedule.

City Offices will be open. Public Library and Activity Center will close at 6 p.m.  City offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2015.

City Offices will be closed for New Year’s Day, including City Hall, Utility Offices, Animal Shelter, Activity Center and Library. Texas Disposal Systems will collect Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday routes as usual and will move Thursday and Friday routes to the next day.
