San Marcos Discovery Center Announces Spring Workshop Series

The City of San Marcos is hosting a free nature and conservation workshop series from Mar. 14 to May 9 at the San Marcos Discovery Center, 430 Riverside Drive.

Workshop topics include veggie gardening and composting, taking an edible plant walk and gardening with mushrooms.

Each workshop is collectively designed and taught by Parks and Recreation staff.

“These workshops are important for San Marcos because they help people connect with nature,” said Conrad Chappell, Discovery Center Attendant and workshop organizer. “More and more research studies are showing that when we practice connecting with nature, our cities and our perspectives begin to reflect positive, sustainable change.”
