The San Marcos Main Street Program will host the Greater Randolph Area (GRA) Trail Riders on Feb. 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for their annual stop in Downtown San Marcos as they travel to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
The inside lanes of North LBJ Drive and San Antonio Street around the Courthouse Square will be closed during the time of the event, and the trail riders will be escorted by the Hays County Sheriff’s Department.
Main Street will host the riders for lunch at restaurants around the square. In addition, Jon and Val Agee will cook their “almost world famous” Dutch-oven peach cobbler on the Square and serve it free to the public. There will also be free “Cowboy Coffee” available as well.
“The trail riders have been stopping in Downtown for over 20 years! It has always been a cherished San Marcos tradition to see them stroll Downtown on their horses and enjoy delicious peach cobbler,” said Interim Main Street Manager Josie Falletta.
The Trail Riders journey starts in Kyle and takes them through Buda, back to San Marcos to the Jon Agee Ranch, then to New Braunfels and Schertz.
The public is invited to join the downtown community in welcoming GRA Trail Riders to downtown.
