San Marcos Downtown Walkabout To Feature Book & Images Of Spring Lake

“With students returning to the downtown scene this month, we look forward to seeing more of them starting this month,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director.

San Marcos, TX – Ron Coley, local photographer, filmmaker, and author will be the featured artist at the Price Center’s Aug. 17th 3rd Thursday Downtown Walkabout.

Coley will be sharing his newest book and images. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the free, family-friendly event. A special, seated dinner service will also be offered.

“With students returning to the downtown scene this month, we look forward to seeing more of them starting this month,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director.

Coley will be on hand to discuss his book and talk about the images from the book that will also be on display, including several large format prints.

Guests can take in the ‘Clash of the Titans’ exhibit – graphite artwork by local artist Norman Bean contrasted against the abstract paintings of Ronnie Borden – and the patriotic quilts by Bee Friends before both shows close at the end of the month.

This month, interested diners may choose from Moussaka, Shrimp &Crab Stuffed Tilapia, or Rosemary Greek Chicken.  All 3 entrees also include your choice of salad and dessert.

Less than ten downtown galleries and businesses, including the Price Center banded together to create the 3rd Thursday Downtown Walkabout in July of 2016.

This month, participating downtown entities totals 30.  The addition of a new map and two, free electric cabs should help participants navigate from location to location, boasting a neon yellow 3rd Thursday decal.

Price Center enhancements to the event continue each month, including live music and the recent addition of dinner. Guests are encouraged to grab a drink and a snack and explore the Center while meeting creative individuals within the community.
