San Marcos Extends Movies In Your Park To Aug. 7

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Grande Communications and Cricket Wireless, has expanded the 2018 Movies in Your Park series by one week due to a cancellation in June.

“Space Jam” will be shown on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at San Marcos Plaza Park., 201 N. C M Allen Parkway.

C M Allen Parkway is closed between Hopkins Street and University Drive for reconstruction of the roadway. 

Alternative parking will be available during non-business hours at the City of San Marcos Parks Department parking lot. Other parking areas include the City Rec Center parking lot across the river and the Veramendi Plaza Park parking area.

The City of San Marcos Parks Department parking lot includes a handicap accessible parking space with access to the San Marcos Plaza Park area.

Pre-movie activities hosted by Angel Drops, Texas Health & Racquet Club, and other community organizations will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the movie at 8:45 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Association of Recreation Enthusiasts, and Kona Ice will be on site selling snow cones.  Glass, Styrofoam, alcohol, and smoking are not permitted.
