I-35 CAPITAL AREA CORRIDOR MOBILITY
Closures, Detours, Traffic Alerts for June 6 – 12

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.
Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road. The new configuration will have the I-35 main lanes going over Posey Road.

- Posey Road bridge closed at I-35

- Northbound I-35 exit (#199) for Posey Road and exit (#200) for Centerpoint Road are closed
° Until further notice
- Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed permanently at Centerpoint Road
° Until further notice
- Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed continuously from York Creek Road to Centerpoint Road

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads.
Additionally, construction of new extended entrance/exit lanes for main lanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Woodland Avenue to Woodward Street
° Sunday, June 7 through Tuesday, June 9 from 8:30 PM until 6 AM
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Woodland Avenue to Woodward Street. The entrance ramp south of Woodland Avenue, the Woodward Street exit (#231), and the entrance ramp south of Oltorf Street will be closed
° Wednesday, June 10 through Thursday, June 11 from 8:30 PM until 6 AM
- Southbound I-35 flyover closed nightly at SH 71
° Wednesday, June 10 through Thursday, June 11 from 8:30 PM until 6 AM

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to US 183
° Sunday, June 7 through Sunday, June 14 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East
° Sunday, June 7 through Thursday, June 11 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound US 183 closed from I-35 to Carver Avenue
° Sunday, June 7 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
° Sunday, June 7 through Thursday, June 11 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from US 183 to Norwood Park Boulevard. The Rundberg Lane exit (#241) will also be closed
° Monday, June 8 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from St. Johns Avenue to Huntland Drive
° Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 from 9 AM until 3 PM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Rundberg Lane to Middle Lane. The north to south I-35 U-turn at Rundberg Lane will also be closed
° Monday, June 8 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- South to north I-35 U-turn closed daily at US 183
° Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 from 7 AM until 5 PM
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from US 183 to Norwood Park Boulevard
° Tuesday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 left two lanes closed nightly at US 183
° Tuesday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 FROM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit ramp

I-35 FROM US-79 TO SH-45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 main lanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Reduced congestion, improved mobility at Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.
The start date is summer 2019 and is scheduled to be completed summer of 2021. The construction costs are estimated to be $24.6 million.
