City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Public Library, Activity Center, Animal Shelter, Municipal Court, and Utility Offices, will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29, for the Thanksgiving Holiday, with Thursday and Friday garbage collection postponed for a day.
The City Clerk office will close early for the holiday starting on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at noon.
The Convention and Visitor Bureau will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 but will be open on Friday. City Parks will be open during regularly scheduled hours.
San Marcos Municipal Court, located at the Hays County Government Center at 712 South Stagecoach Road, will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 27 in addition to Nov. 28 and 29 to coincide with the Hays County holiday facility closings.
Residential trash and recycling pick up by Texas Disposal Systems will be rolled from Thursday to Friday, and Friday’s pick up will be moved to Saturday. Residents should have containers at the curb by 7 a.m.
The Animal Shelter will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 1. Emergency animal services can be contacted by calling the San Marcos Police Department non-emergency line at 512.753.2108
The Activity Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and open for regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The Library will be open for normal Saturday and Sunday hours. Other offices will reopen at usual times on Monday, Dec. 2.
Hays County
Hays County offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday, November 27-29 for Thanksgiving.
The San Marcos Municipal Court, located at the Hays County Government Center, will also be closed November 27-29. Offices will reopen at their regular times on Monday, December 2.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, all Hays County parks will be closed.
Commissioners Court will be held on Tuesday, November 26, but will not be held on December 3.
