On Saturday, March 23, the San Marcos High School Rattler Color Guard were awarded 2nd place at the Texas Color Guard Circuit Area West Championship.
SMHS Rattler Color Guard started rehearsals in preparation for the competition back in November 2018.
According to the district, the silver medal was a great reward for a great season and the countless hours each student spent rehearsing.
“Congratulations Rattler Guard! You make San Marcos Proud!” Matthew Valentine, Director of Bands, said.
The Texas Color Guard Circuit’s mission is to create and foster positive, competitive and educational experiences through the pageantry arts, both within the state of Texas and throughout all affiliated organizations according to its website.
TCGC will host the Color Guard State Championships on March 30 and the Percussion and Winds States Championships on April 6.
