The City of San Marcos Main Street Program recognized several downtown businesses, partners and volunteers at its fifth annual Love Downtown Awards on Friday, Feb. 21.
The event honored the contributions of downtown merchants and volunteers who work tirelessly to foster a downtown that is a unique and culturally vibrant destination and where people of all ages can connect, create and celebrate.
Community submissions directed the nomination and recipient process.
“We absolutely could not be able to accomplish the goals set forth by the Advisory Board without our businesses and partners,” said Linda Coker, Main Street Advisory Board Chair.
This year, the Innovation Award and the Downtown Champion Award were added to the ceremony to highlight the far-reaching success of the downtown area.
Award recipients included:
Downtown New Business of the Year: North Street
Downtown Legend Business of the Year: Royal Cleaners
Downtown Business of the Year: KnDs
Downtown Partner of the Year: Price Center & Garden
Downtown Champion: Carol Powers with Paper Bear
Innovation Award: Splash Coworking
Kelly Franks Award (Volunteer of the Year): Photographer, Christopher Paul Cardoza
