A San Marcos man suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl was arrested by New Braunfels police Monday.
Chase Daniel Laird, 24, was taken into custody at his home in San Marcos after an investigation that went on for over a month, according to NBPD.
According to a Wednesday NBPD press release, the 14-year-old told authorities Feb. 18 that she engaged in sexual activity with Laird, after meeting him online.
Laird is in Comal County Jail and charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony. The suspect could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000, if convicted.
