The San Marcos Marshal’s office is investigating a bomb scare that caused an evacuation at a local business this morning.

The call was initiated as a suspicious package inside a business located at 1050 McKinley Place at 10:53 a.m. by an employee of the business. Members of the Austin Police Department responded to assist in determining if the package posed any danger.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., the package was determined not to pose any danger to the public, and employees were allowed back into the building.

An investigation is underway by the San Marcos Marshal’s Office regarding the events proceeding the incident. 

Marshals are not releasing any additional information pending further investigation.
