The San Marcos Convention & Visitor Bureau (SMCVB) is now accepting nominations for the Rogers Family Tourism Awards.
There are two awards open for nomination: The Rogers Family Tourism Award and Rogers Family Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award.
According to the City of San Marcos, winners will be announced at the Travel and Tourism Week Reception, held by the SMCVB on Wednesday, May 8, at 4:30 PM.
Individuals seeking to nomination an organization or individual can find the nomination forms at TourSanMarcos.com.
The Rogers Family Tourism Award is presented to an individual or organization in recognition of major and lasting contributions to the promotion of San Marcos tourism, or dedication to and development of the San Marcos tourism industry.
The Rogers Family Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual or organization in recognition of pioneering or groundbreaking efforts in developing tourism in San Marcos or dedication to and development of the San Marcos tourism industry.
“We have so many incredible tourism partners in San Marcos,” said Rebecca Ybarra-Ramirez, director of the SMCVB. “This is our way of thanking them for all their hard work and dedication to making San Marcos a travel destination.”
Past recipients of the Rogers Family Tourism Award include Dane Adamson, Beverley and Billy Ray Mangham, Kyle Mylius, Andy Heatwole, Ruben Becerra, John Q. Hammons, Arlis Hiebert and Michelle Kvanli.
Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients include the Lions Club Tube Rental, The Heritage Association of San Marcos, Honorable Susan Clifford Narvaiz, Cathy Dillon, Kent Finlay, Chandrika and Arun Amin, Ron Coley, Bob Sappington and Buddy Mostyn.
