San Marcos Parks And Recreation Monthly Travel Group Trips

The City of San Marcos hosts monthly travel group trips that depart from the San Marcos Activity Center and visit various locations in Texas. Trips are open to the public.

 

January’s trip is the Central Texas Kolache Tour on Jan. 11, 2016. Join us as we tour the countryside and sample delicious kolaches and klobasniky! Dos Gatos will be providing your first kolache of the day as you get on the bus. We will be stopping at Hruska’s in Ellinger, Weikel’s in La Grange, and The Czech Stop and Slovacek’s in West. Trip fee is $34 per person. Fee includes round trip transportation. Delicious treats will abound and can be purchased on your own. Departure time is 8 a.m. Return time is 5 p.m.

 

February’s trip is to Corpus Christi on Feb. 17, 2016. Join us as we visit the Texas State Aquarium and the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. We will have guided tours at both stops as well as free time to browse on your own. Trip cost is $60. Admission and tour fees are included. Lunch will be at Brewster Street Icehouse where they have everything from seafood to standard American food (to be paid for separately). Departure time is 6 a.m. Return time is 5:30 p.m.

 

Register at the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department main office, 401 E. Hopkins, at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, or by calling 512.393.8400. Participants must be a minimum of 18 years old. Travel times are subject to change. Advanced registration only.
