San Marcos Parks & Recreation Announces Movies In The Park Schedule

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Grande Communications and Cricket Wireless, presents the 2019 Movies in Your Park series. Movies in Your Park is a free community event every Tuesday in June and July at San Marcos Plaza Park, 201 N. C M Allen Pkwy.

This year’s movies are:

  • June 4 – Incredibles 2
  • June 11 – Mary Poppins Returns
  • June 18 – How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Held at the CAF Hangar at the San Marcos Airport, 1841 Airport Dr. Building 2249)
  • June 25 – Trolls (Held at Strahan Arena, 106 Charles Austin Dr. This movie will begin at 7 p.m.)
  • July 9 – The Boss Baby
  • July 16 – Kung Fu Panda 3
  • July 23 – The Grinch
  • July 30 – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (Teen Night; this movie is PG-13)

There will not be a movie on Tuesday, July 2, due to preparations for the SummerFest Independence Day Celebration.

Pre-movie activities, hosted by Texas Health & Racquet Club and other community organizations, begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the movie at 8:45 PM. It is recommended to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

Concessions will be available for purchase, and Kona Ice will be on-site selling snow cones. Glass, Styrofoam, alcohol, and smoking are not permitted. A complete list of park rules can be found at www.sanmarcostx.gov/parkrules.
