According to police, on Saturday, March 30, at approximately 12:54 AM San Marcos police responded to Uptown Square Apartment, 1354 Thorpe Lane, in regards to a male subject who was displaying a gun.
Upon arrival, officers witnessed people fleeing from the apartment but did not locate the suspect.
The victim reported that he was at a party at the apartment complex when the suspect punched him, and then pointed a handgun at him.
The victim reported the suspect tried to fire the handgun, but it appeared the gun malfunctioned. The SMPD Criminal Investigation Division (CID) began an investigation and identified the suspect as Keyshaun Brown. An arrest warrant was issued for Brown on April 3.
On this same date, a search warrant was obtained for Brown’s apartment in San Marcos where he was arrested by members of SMPD and the Hays County Narcotics Task Force (HCNTF) without incident.
The subsequent search of Brown’s apartment located the handgun used in the offense along with other items of evidence.
Brown was booked into the Hays County Law Enforcement Center, where he remains with a bon
