San Marcos Police Ask for Help in Finding Man Accused of Kidnapping and Sexual Assault

A press conference was held today at the San Marcos Municipal Building at 11:30 a.m., to request the public’s help in locating the man suspected in the kidnapping and assault case of a 7-year-old San Marcos resident. San Marcos Police Commander Kelly Earnest led the press conference.

The girl, unidentified, was abducted around 6 p.m. yesterday afternoon from the front of her home located on the 800 Block of Bracewood Circle. Commander Earnest described the suspect as a Hispanic or white male, skinny, dark hair, possible goatee, and driving what was described to be a 2011 White Nissan Sentra with a dent on the right side.

The girl was lured into man’s car when he claimed that his back was hurting and he needed help. She was taken to a parking lot less than a block from the victim’s home, where he allegedly assaulted her. Earnest said that the potential time frame the victim was with the assailant was between 30-45 minutes. The suspect let the girl out of the car when she told him she needed to go home. She then walked home in the rain and told her mother what happened.

Commander Earnest commended the mother of the child for contacting the police department quickly. The victim’s injuries were minor and hospital treatment was not required, but a forensic investigation is currently being conducted.

Commander Earnest requests, on behalf of the San Marcos Police Department, for “the public’s help in locating either the vehicle or the individual who did this.”

The police currently have no leads or video surveillance of the man, car or abduction.
