San Marcos Police Department To Host Church Safety Seminars

In the aftermath of deadly mass shootings throughout schools and faith-based communities, local law enforcement around the country is working to address concerns of violence and safety.

The San Marcos Police Department will host three Church Safety Seminars at the SMPD auditorium, 2300 S IH-35, in May and June.

The seminars are free, but participants must register online to reserve their places.

This unique seminar addresses concerns of violence and safety for faith-based communities across the country.

The information is practical, relevant and timely, addressing the safety needs of churches and houses of worship.

Pastors, counselors, ushers/greeters, parking lot attendants, hospitality, and church safety personnel are encouraged to attend the course. Seating is limited to 45 people per event. There will be three opportunities to attend this presentation:

  • May 29 from 6-9 p.m.
  • June 5 from 6-9 p.m.
  • June 21 from 6-9 p.m.

Online registration for the course is required at www.sanmarcostx.gov/churchsafety.
