San Marcos Police Blue Santa gift wrapping is underway.
SMPD said there was a fantastic turn out for Tuesday, November 26, night’s gift-wrapping event; tape and wrapping paper were everywhere and the hot chocolate was flowing.
Volunteers even received a surprise visit from Blue Santa. Three more gift wrapping events are scheduled.
Volunteers are needed to wrap and package toys on the following dates and times:
• Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, 6 to 8 PM
• Tuesday, Dec. 10th, 6 to 8 PM
There is no need to sign-up for the wrapping event. Just show up with your wrapping skills. The event is located at 750 Barnes Dr. Suite 100 (between Target and J.C. Penny’s)
Join SMPD for their next event.
Established in 1972, the SMPD’s Blue Santa program has provided toys to local children who might not otherwise have gifts for the holidays.
Each year, between 70 and 130 volunteers attend SMPD’s Blue Santa gift-wrapping events. Each event is a good opportunity to celebrate holiday togetherness with friends, neighbors, local businesses and organizations.
The San Marcos Blue Santa gift-wrapping location is at 750 Barnes Drive, Suite 100 (between Target and JC Penney). Volunteers are needed to wrap and package toys on the following dates with toys being distributed on Dec. 21.
SMPD is accepting monetary and toy donations for the Blue Santa program. Donations may be dropped off at the San Marcos Police Department, 2300 IH 35 South. Checks should be made out to SMCPAAA for Blue Santa.
