San Marcos Police Dept. Kicks Off Blue Santa Program

The San Marcos Police Department is encouraging the community to get into the holiday spirit by volunteering or contributing to the Blue Santa Program.

The department will accept monetary donations and new unwrapped toys (please no stuffed animals) through Dec. 14, 2015 for its annual Blue Santa toy drive. Donations and toys may be delivered to the San Marcos Police Department at 2300 S IH-35 in San
Marcos.

For the second year in a row, the San Marcos Police Department is proud to partner with Endeavor Real Estate Group, who has offered the use of the former Beall’s department store located at Springtown Center, 1104 Thorpe Lane, as a base of operations for wrapping and toy distribution.

Volunteer gift-wrapping dates and times are listed below:

• Tuesday, Nov. 10 6pm-9pm
• Tuesday, Nov. 17 6pm-9pm
• Tuesday, Nov. 24 6pm-9pm
• Tuesday, Dec. 1 6pm-9pm
• Tuesday, Dec. 8 6pm-9pm

The San Marcos Police Blue Santa program has been delivering toys to children who might not otherwise have Christmas gifts in San Marcos, since 1972. Last year Blue Santa provided gift for nearly 400 families and 1,400 children.
