San Marcos Police Investigates Third Homicide Of 2020

San Marcos Police responded to The Lodge Apartments, 1975 Aquarena Springs Drive, on Tuesday evening for calls of gunshots which ultimately resulted in a murder investigation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at approximately 9:13 p.m., officers responded to multiple calls of gunshots at The Lodge.

Callers reported individuals running from the area in addition to the gunshots being heard.

Officers arrived to find an individual with a gunshot wound to the chest and immediately began lifesaving efforts.

Hays County EMS and San Marcos Fire Department personnel also responded, but the lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.

Khambrail Winters (DOB 10/14/2000) was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Jo Anne Prado and next of kin have been notified.

Detectives responded to the scene to assist and several witnesses and involved persons were identified and interviewed.

During the interviews, it was discovered that Winters and two other individuals, Enalisa Blackman and Michael Ifeanacho, planned to buy drugs.

The drug deal was set up at the apartment complex where Blackman met two individuals to purchase a couple of ounces of marijuana.

During the drug deal, Winters was shot and died on the scene. Arrested and charged with Capital Murder are Enalisa Briana Blackman (DOB 11/21/2000) and Michael Tyreek Ifeanacho (DOB 10/23/2000).

Both are being held in the Hays County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and SMPD is seeking to identify the two other individuals involved in the shooting and any other witnesses to what occurred.

In addition, police are asking for any surveillance video of the area around the shooting or in the parking lot of Building 4 as the surveillance video was not operational at the apartment complex.

This is the third homicide of 2020 in San Marcos with the prior deaths being Officer Justin Putnam in April 2020 and Ivoryanna Ballard in May 2020.
