San Marcos Police Search For Driver Involved In Weekend Hit And Run

A 23-year-old man is recovering from serious injuries after being hit by a car near downtown San Marcos early Sunday morning.

On October 13 at approximately 2:14 AM, San Marcos Police officers responded to the 100 block of West San Antonio Street for an auto-pedestrian crash.

When officers arrived, they observed the victim lying in the street unconscious, but still breathing. According to eyewitnesses, the victim was hit while crossing the roadway by a white sedan traveling east on W. San Antonio St.

The white sedan fled the scene traveling north down the alley behind Nephews, then turned and travelled west on W. Hopkins St.

Officers are in the process of reviewing surveillance video from surrounding businesses and restaurants in hopes of capturing an image of the suspect’s vehicle. The victim remains in the hospital but is expected to make a full recovery.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact San Marcos Police Officer Andrew Wisener by email at AWisener@sanmarcostx.gov or by phone at 512.393.8081 x 9400.
