San Marcos, TX —The Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® commends the San Marcos City Council for involving stakeholders in the process to approve new real estate regulations.

The council approved Code SMTX—the updated land development code—and a rental registration ordinance on April 18 after more than four years of discussion among property owners and managers, tenants, city officials, and real estate professionals.

“We appreciate the city’s dedication to continuing to involve property owners and property managers in the ongoing process of developing a feasible rental policy for San Marcos,” said Marty Chrisman, president of FRAR.

“Now we look forward to continuing to work together as the city determines how to best implement these regulations,” Chrisman said.

The Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® is a professional membership organization that represents all aspects of real estate in the San Marcos community. Members advocate on behalf of private-property rights and promote public policies that benefit real estate consumers.
