San Marcos Releases Special Office Hours For Thanksgiving

With the Thanksgiving Holiday less than a week away, the City of San Marcos’s has set special hours for all of its facilities including the library, activity center, animal shelter and more.

City of San Marcos offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24, for the Thanksgiving Holiday, with Thursday and Friday garbage collection postponed for a day.

San Marcos Municipal Court, located at the Hays County Government Center at 712 South Stagecoach Road, will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 22 in addition to Nov. 23 and 24 to coincide with the Hays County holiday facility closings.

Residential trash and recycling pick up by Texas Disposal Systems will be rolled from Thursday to Friday, and Friday’s pick up will be moved to Saturday. Regularly scheduled Saturday residential pickup will remain the same.  Residents should have containers at the curb by 7 a.m. Thursday and Friday bulk pickups will both be on Friday.

Facilities closed for Thursday and Friday include City Hall, Library, Activity Center, Animal Shelter, Utility Offices, Municipal Court, Parks and Recreation, Environmental Health and the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center. 

The Animal Shelter will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 26.  Emergency animal services can be contacted by calling the San Marcos Police Department non-emergency line at 512.753.2108

The Activity Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and open for regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Library will be open for normal Saturday and Sunday hours. Other offices will reopen at usual times on Monday, Nov. 27.
