San Marcos Road Construction and Traffic Update

Projects affecting San Marcos traffic September 6 –12, 2015
LOOP ST: As part of the City’s new pavement management program to provide preventative maintenance to the City streets, mill and asphalt overlay maintenance is in progress on Hazelton Street from Loop Street to Perkins Street and Alto from Loop Street to Viola Street. Project is scheduled to last 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your expense. City of San Marcos Street Dept., 512.393.8036
200-300 BLK ROOSEVELT: All lanes in both directions will be closed for a sanitary sewer rehabilitation on Sept. 8 – 16 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Insituform Technologies, LLC 713.845.3016
100 BLOCK S LBJ: One lane will be intermittently closed for a waterline installation on Sept. 8 – 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. KimT.L Inc, 512.848.2424
DUNBAR TO MLK: The Pride Parade will be escorted by police officers with no lane closures starting at Dunbar to MLK to the Grant Harris Building on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.  Sylvia Sandoval, 512.644.5637
618 W MLK: All lanes in both directions will be closed for the replacement of sewer service on Sept. 8 – 9 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. City of San Marcos Water Wastewater Dept., 512.738.7688
POST RD/Bert Brown: Night time lane closures at east and west bound Post Road intersection with Bert Brown Street for the installation of water line segment Sept. 1 – 4 from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. At least one lane of traffic for either direction will be open at all times. CLOVIS BARKER: One westbound lane of traffic will be closed for a sidewalk installation until Sept. 8 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. All other lanes will continue to have normal traffic flow. Quintero Construction, 512.665.2595
COMANCHE ST: Rotating lane closures, with at least one lane of traffic open during construction, for manhole and leveling project from Woods St. to Sessom Dr. Sept. 9 -12  from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8036
401 FREDERICKSBURG ST: Several parking spaces will be closed periodically on N. Fredericksburg, Lindsey, N. Comanche, and Pat Garrison Streets for exterior painting until Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. LCG, Inc. 512.750.3393
TxDOT HUNTER ROAD (FM 2439) PROJECT: Two way traffic has been restored between Dixon and Bishop Street. Various lane closures will continue on Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street through the Fall 2015 for road, bridge, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian improvements. HWY 80 FROM CLAREWOOD TO IH-35: TxDot is widening SH 80 from Clarewood to IH-35 to allow a second left lane for traffic traveling from SH 80 to South IH-35. Construction will last approximately three months, weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.924.1715
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
  • NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
  • 1500 BLOCK N LBJ: One lane going north bound will be closed for lift station improvements through April 21, 2016. Prota Construction, Inc. 787-528-3171
