San Marcos road construction, detours, closures for week of July 19

The short & long term road construction projects that could affect your drive… Please use caution, drive slowly, and watch for heavy equipment, construction workers, and traffic control flaggers.

  • All traffic projects may be subject to delays or extensions due to weather and/or the current Public Health situation.

REOCCURRING CLOSURES

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET — FARMERS MARKET | 7:30 AM – 3 PM
EVERY SATURDAY — Half a block of the street closed from the Alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program 512.393.8430.

 

CURRENT CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

CHARLES AUSTIN DRIVE | JULY 7 – 9 | 8 AM – 6 PM
The 300 to 400 block of Charles Austin Drive will have a single lane closure for street striping. For more information, contact Brad Bechtol with Mac Inc. at 512.350.3767.

MARTIN LUTHER KING DRIVE | JUNE 18 – JULY 19
Martin Luther King Drive at Guadalupe Street will be closed as part of the Guadalupe Street Improvement Project. For project information, contact Chris Gonzalez with New Age General Contractors, Inc. at 830.560.9077.

CM ALLEN PARKWAY | CURRENT | 7 AM – 6 PM
McCarty Lane between Hunter Road and Barnes Drive will close July 7 through July 8 for Railroad Crossing Repairs. For additional information, contact Union Pacific Railroad at 1.800.848.8715.

OLD RANCH ROAD 12 | JULY 6 – JULY 16 | 8 AM – 5 PM
Old Ranch Road 12 between Craddock Avenue and Wonder World Drive will have intermittent lane closures for Street Striping – Public Works – Transportation- 512.393.8036.

EAST HOPKINS STREET | JULY 7 – 9 | 8 AM – 6 PM
The 400 to 700 block of East Hopkins Street will have a single lane closure for street striping. For more information on this project, contact Brad Bechtol with Mac Inc. to 512.350.3767.

RIVER ROAD | JULY 6 – JULY 30 | 7 AM – 5:30 PM
River Road at Cape Street will be closed for Utility Installation – Cash Construction 512.251.7872.

HOPKINS STREET | MAY 2020 — SPRING OF 2022
Hopkins Street between Bishop Street and Moore Street will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a Street Reconstruction Project. Traffic will be detoured to Craddock at both ends of the project, with only local traffic allowed. Phase 4 is underway with local traffic closures from Blanco to Moore Street. The overall completion of the project is anticipated by Spring 2022. For more information call Richard Reynosa with the City of San Marcos Engineering Department at 512.393.8235.

HOPKINS STREET | NOVEMBER 2020 — AUGUST 2021 | 9 AM – 3 PM
CM Allen to Thorpe will have intermittent single lane and sidewalk closures for sidewalks and driveway installation. For more information call Brad Bechtol with Mac Inc at 512.350.3767.

UHLAND ROAD | MARCH 2021 — OCTOBER 2021
1396 Uhland Road to Aquarena Springs Road will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a Road Reconstruction Project. For more information call Todd Keltgen at 512.212.7990.

GUADALUPE STREET IMPROVEMENTS | CURRENT – END OF SUMMER 2021
Sidewalk closed from Guadalupe Street at Martin Luther King Drive to the railroad crossing for reconstruction. Completion is expected by end of summer 2021. For information call New Age General Contractors, Inc. at 830-560-9077.

VICTORY GARDENS UTILITY PROJECT | JULY 1 – JULY 31 | 7 AM – 5 PM
The Victory Gardens Neighborhood will undergo a new underground utility installation. The street closure will affect Patton Street. For more information contact Darren with Cox Commercial Construction at 956.601.1645.

EAST SAN ANTONIO | CURRENT | 7 AM – 6 PM
East San Antonio Street from CM Allen Parkway to South LBJ Drive will have intermittent lane and sidewalk closures for Sidewalk Construction. For additional project information contact, Public Services and Transportation at 512.393.8036.
