San Marcos road construction, detours, closures for week of May 31

The short & long term road construction projects that could affect your drive… Please use caution, drive slowly, and watch for heavy equipment, construction workers, and traffic control flaggers.

  • All traffic projects may be subject to delays or extensions due to weather and/or the current Public Health situation.

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET — FARMERS MARKET
EVERY SATURDAY | 7:30 AM – 3 PM
Half a block of the street closed from the Alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program 512.393.8430.

 

SHORT TERM ROAD PROJECTS

CLOVIS BARKER ROAD | JUNE 1 | 7 AM – 7 PM
Clovis Barker Road from Hwy 123 to IH 35 will have a single lane closure for roadway resurfacing. For more information contact, Public Services and Transportation at 512.393.8036.

OLD RANCH ROAD 12 | JUNE 2 – 4 | 7 AM – 7 PM
Old Ranch Road 12 from Craddock Avenue to Ranch Road 12 will have a single lane closure for roadway resurfacing. For more information contact, Public Services and Transportation at 512.393.8036.

 

LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS

HOPKINS STREET | MAY 2020 — SPRING OF 2022
Hopkins Street between Bishop Street and Moore Street will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a Street Reconstruction Project. Traffic will be detoured to Craddock at both ends of the project, with only local traffic allowed. Phase 2 is starting and is extending the closure for local traffic from Bishop to Johnson Street. The overall completion of the project is anticipated by Spring 2022. For more information call Richard Reynosa with the City of San Marcos Engineering Department at 512.393.8235.

CHEATHAM STREET BIKE LANE PROJECT | CURRENT – JUNE 19
Cheatham Street at LBJ Drive will have single-lane closures through June 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for bike lane improvements. For information call New Age General Contractors, Inc. at 830.560.9077.

HOPKINS STREET | CURRENT — AUGUST 2021 | 9 AM – 3 PM
CM Allen to Thorpe will have intermittent single lane and sidewalk closures for sidewalks and driveway installation. For more information call Brad Bechtol with Mac Inc at 512.350.3767.

UHLAND ROAD | MARCH 2021 — JULY 2021
1396 Uhland Road to Aquarena Springs Road will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a Road Reconstruction Project. For more information call Todd Keltgen at 512.212.7990.

UHLAND ROAD | MARCH 2021 — JUNE 2021 | 8 AM – 5 PM
The Eastbound lane of the 1000 block of Uhland Road will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a Utility Line Relocation. For more information call HMI Utilities at 940.255.7705.

GUADALUPE STREET BIKE LANE PROJECT | CURRENT – JUNE 19 | 7 AM – 5 PM
Guadalupe Street at San Antonio Street, Hopkins Street, MLK Drive, Hutchison Street, and University Street will have single-lane closures through June 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for bike lane improvements. For information call New Age General Contractors, Inc. at 830-560-9077.

VICTORY GARDENS UTILITY PROJECT | CURRENT – JULY 2021
The Victory Gardens Neighborhood will undergo a new underground utility installation.
