The City of San Marcos sales tax reimbursements are down for the fourth month in a row, eight months into their fiscal year and down a total of 4.89 percent for the fiscal year.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $787.8 million in local sales tax allocations for May, 2.6 percent more than in May 2016. These allocations are based on sales made in March by businesses that report tax monthly, and sales made in January, February and March by quarterly filers.
“The cities of Irving, Round Rock, Dallas, San Antonio and Odessa saw noticeable increases in sales tax allocations,” Hegar said. “The cities of McAllen and Sugar Land saw noticeable decreases.”

David, if you get an opportunity take a look at all retail-brick and mortar stocks. All the brick and mortar revenues are down, just today Macy's and Kohl's help to drag what morning market gain we did have down.
Taking a current look at the retail big picture and you will find that online shopping is what is currently hitting our brick and mortar retail revenues, it actually started 4 or 5 years ago.
