San Marcos Schedules Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan Town Hall Meeting #2, #1 Takes Place Today

San Marcos is asking residents to complete a survey; participants are eligible for three prizes.

The public is invited to a town hall meeting to discuss updates to the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 6 – 7:45 p.m.

The meeting will allow residents to learn, provide feedback, and collaborate with others on the future of San Marcos parks and open spaces.

The Parks and Recreation Department also seek input via an online survey. Visit www.surverymonkey.com/r/SanMarcosParks to take the survey. Hard copies of the survey are available at the San Marcos Activity Center.

People who complete the survey by Nov. 8 will be entered into a drawing to win one of three prizes: a one year individual membership to the San Marcos Activity Center; a Rio Vista Fun Prize Pack including a propane grill, grill utensils, a waterproof phone pouch, and sunglasses; or a Greenspace Hiking Prize Pack including a hydration backpack, hiking pole, and sunglasses.

Playscape Town Hall Nov. 1

The Parks and Recreation Department, along with the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, are also hosting a Children’s Park and Playscape Town Hall Meeting on Wed., Nov. 1 from 6 -8 p.m. at the San Marcos Rec Hall, 170 Charles Austin Dr. The playground designer will give a presentation on the proposed new playscape and receive feedback from residents on the design.
