San Marcos To Celebrate Corndog Day

Corndog Day is back in San Marcos and will take place on March 18 from 12-3 p.m. on the Hays County Courthouse lawn.

The event is free and open to the public. Corndog day will feature a corndog eating contest, crowning of corndog royalty, corndog-themed activities and a limited amount of free corndogs.

National Corndog Day has been celebrated in San Marcos since 2003 and moved to Downtown San Marcos in 2014, becoming a loved and much anticipated event drawing thousands of people to the downtown district each year.

Since 1992, this event has been held nationwide in conjunction with March Madness and featured corndogs, party favors and games for the whole family.

According to National Corndog Day’s website, “National Corndog Day is the ultimate celebration of America’s love of basketball and meats on sticks.”
