San Marcos To Close Out The Summer With Final “Party In Your Park”

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department will host the third 2019 Party in Your Park event on Friday, Aug. 23, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Dunbar Park, 801 Martin Luther King Dr. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Activities will include Gaga Ball, Mega Jenga, Giant Connect 4, and more group field games. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided at no cost. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs to sit on if seating is preferred.

Texas State University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will be on-site giving away free backpacks to attendees. The backpacks will be given out on first-come, first-served basis.

Party in Your Park is a series of events to facilitate community engagement in the City’s neighborhood parks. Attendees enjoy a fun, safe evening while socializing with their neighbors.

The City would like to thank Grande Communications and Ted Miska Insurance Agency, Inc. for their generous support as the “Life of the Party” sponsor, and Ault & Ault Orthodontics as the “Social Butterfly” sponsor of Party in Your Park. The next Party in Your Park is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11 at Eddie Durham Park. Please visit www.facebook.com/smtxcs for details and updates. For more information, please contact Youth Services Coordinator Catherine Marler, at cmarler@sanmarcostx.gov.
