San Marcos To Hold Flag Raising Ceremony On Flood Anniversary

The City of San Marcos invites the public to a flag raising ceremony on Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins in remembrance and celebration of the heroes and victims of the 2015 Memorial Day flood.

A special flag with the “Stronger Together” logo will be raised on the main flagpole in front of City Hall, and City facilities will fly the “Stronger Together” flags.

In addition, the San Marcos Convention and Visitor Bureau will sell smaller versions of the flags, suitable for businesses and residents to fly, as a fundraiser for the Blanco River Regional Recovery Team (BR3T). Flags will be $20 each (cash only) and available beginning May 24 at the San Marcos Tourist Information Center, 617 IH-35 North.
