San Marcos Traffic Update
Projects affecting San Marcos traffic May 24-30, 2015
HUNTER RD: The next phase of the Hunter Road widening project continues through mid-June 2015. Construction includes street widening and the installation of new water, wastewater and drainage pipe. Traffic will be one-way northbound on Hunter between Dixon and Bishop. Southbound traffic will detour at Bishop, Craddock and Wonder World. Residents along Hopkins south of Bishop will be able to access their homes by taking Bishop to Belvin and back to Hopkins. TxDOT, 512.393.8235
PATTON STREET: Patton Street will be closed in both directions for repairs to railroad crossing on May 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Please obey all appropriate signage and use caution when traveling through work zone. Advanced Workzone Services, 918.682.9393
400 BLOCK WONDER WORLD ACCESS: The 400 block under the Wonder World Bridge will be closed in both directions for repairs to railroad crossing on May 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Please obey all appropriate signage and use caution when traveling through work zone. PICKARD STREET: All lanes in both directions will be closed from Russell Street to N. LBJ along the 100 block of Pickard Street for construction crane operations on May 18, 2015 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please pay attention to all appropriate signage and traffic control within the construction site. HWY 80 FROM CLAREWOOD TO IH35: TxDot is beginning construction this week to widen SH 80 from Clarewood to IH-35. This road widening will allow a second left lane for traffic traveling from SH 80 to South IH-35. Construction will last approximately three months, weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.924.1715
CHARLES AUSTIN BETWEEN JOWERS ACCESS & AQUARENA SPRINGS: Several Graduations will take place throughout the month for area high school Graduations held at Strahan Coliseum. All lanes in both directions will be closed from Jowers access and Aquarena Springs on May 28, 2015 through June 6, 2015 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. 120 E. SAN ANTONIO ST: The alley between The Marc and Allstate will be closed for an event May 27 – 28, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Operators will be available to move buses blocking the alley if needed. Hector Garcia, 915.731.1294
IH 35 AT YARRINGTON: South bound and north bound middle lanes, 500 feet before bridge and 200 feet past bridge, on IH 35 at Yarrington will be closed May 28, 2015 from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. for continuous construction. HOPKINS BETWEEN SAN ANTONIO & BISHOP: North bound lanes on Hopkins between San Antonio and Bishop St. will be closed on May 26, 2015 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. for replacement of damaged cable. Consolidated Communications, 936.521.7714
COMANCHE ST FROM WOODS TO SESSOM DR: Street maintenance from May 19, 2015 through June 19, 2015. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at owners’ expense. 1204 THORPE LANE: Northbound lane on Thorpe Ln. will be closed for sidewalk construction through June 5, 2015, weather permitting, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for the exception of weekends. 700-800 BLOCK OF N. LBJ STREET: Starting May 21, 2015, portions of the N. LBJ Bus loop will be under construction. There will be one lane open into campus from Sessom onto N. LBJ Dr. and one lane leaving campus on N. LBJ Dr. to Sessom. Vehicles will be able to access the Pleasant Street Garage as well as Pleasant Street. RR 12 AT CRADDOCK AVE: One lane closure on the eastbound shoulder of RR 12 for new water line extension through June 10, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with the exception of weekends. Street will be passable to regular traffic. P2MjG, 832.690.2572
NORTH LBJ AT YOUNGER: Reconstruction of N.LBJ will continue until end of June 2015 in conjunction with the N.LBJ reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
- MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
- NORTH LBJ: Until July of 2015. Reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Motorists will be detoured one way northbound on LBJ from Forest to Holland Streets and will use Chestnut as a southbound route during construction. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
