Projects affecting San Marcos traffic November 8 – 14, 2015

UNIVERSITY DR BETWEEN LBJ & GUADALUPE: All lanes in both directions will be closed for a drainage project through Nov. 21. Detour signs will direct traffic around the construction zone. City of San Marcos CIP/Engineering Dept. 512.393.8130
 
McCARTY LANE: As part of the City’s new pavement management program to provide preventative maintenance to city streets, McCarty Lane from IH-35 to the railroad crossing will undergo street maintenance daily from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Project length is estimated 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting. Please park vehicles off the street or they may be towed at owners’ expense. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8025
 
MILL ST: Street maintenance will begin on Mill Street as part of the City’s new pavement management program to provide preventative maintenance to City Streets. Maintenance will begin Nov. 9 and last approximately 1 to 2 weeks, weather permitting. We ask that you park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your expense. 119 E. HOPKINS ALLEYWAY: All lanes in both directions in the alleyway of 119 E. Hopkins will be closed for the Wine and Wassail Event on Nov. 13 from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. City of San Marcos Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
 
120 E. HOPKINS: The alley between the Marc and Allstate will be closed on Nov. 14 – 15 from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. for the Josh Abott tour bus and November 16 from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. for the TX Music Scene filming. The Marc, 915.731.1294
 
RIVERSIDE DR: The Army and Air Force Memorial Run will take place on Nov. 15 from 6 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. starting at the Veterans Memorial on Riverside Drive. One lane will be closed. The run will be counter clockwise from Hopkins Street to Charles Austin Drive on to Aquarena Springs Drive continuing onto University Drive, then CM Allen Parkway and finally a left back to Hopkins to the Veterans Memorial. IH35 AT HWY 80: North and south bound IH35 at HWY 80 will have lane closures for bridge joint maintenance on Nov. 8 – 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will remain open on both directions. TxDOT/Angel Brothers Const., 830.643.0570
 
HOPKINS ST: One lane will be closed for the removal of concrete sidewalk at 200’ south of Hopkins through 100’ north of Hopkins on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Jordan Foster Construction, 512.921.3865
 
242 N. LBJ: Three parking spaces will be closed for a sign removal on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sign-Arts, 512.396.4140
 
ELLIS ST: All lanes in both directions will be closed for the installation of box culverts on Nov. 9 through Dec. 31. Smith Contracting, 512.694.2552
 
BLANCO VISTA AREA: Blanco Vista Elementary 5K Charity run will be held on Nov. 7 from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. Running lanes will be coned off temporarily as runners pass streets. Race route will be Old Settlers Rd., Hay Barn, Easton & Irvin Dr., Trail Ridge, Blanco Vista Blvd, Jacob lane, Silo, Split Rail and Fence Line St. Cones will be used to block off runners. RM12 AT BLANCO RIVER BRIDGE: One way traffic control for pavement repairs on east and west bound traffic on RM 12 at the Blanco River Bridge will occur nightly through Nov. 11 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Closures will be on Sunday nights through Friday morning. TxDOT, 512.585.3540
 
LINDA DRIVE: New driveway approaches will be installed on Linda Drive between Sherbarb and Bugg Lane through Nov. 13, weather permitting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. excluding weekends. City of San Marcos Drainage Dept., 512.393.8019
 
200 BLOCK PLEASANT STREET: Through Nov. 24 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the 200 block of Pleasant Street, east of State Street, will be closed in both directions for the installation of underground utility lines. Texas State University 512.245.2202
 
TxDOT HUNTER ROAD (FM 2439) PROJECT: Two way traffic has been restored between Dixon and Bishop Street. Various lane closures will continue on Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street through the fall 2015 for road, bridge, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian improvements. HWY 80 FROM CLAREWOOD TO IH-35: TxDot is widening SH 80 from Clarewood to IH-35 to allow a second left lane for traffic traveling from SH 80 to South IH-35. Construction will last approximately three months, weather permitting. TxDOT, 512.924.1715
 
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
 
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
 
• NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
