San Marcos’ Weekly Road And Traffic Construction Report

Projects Affecting San Marcos Traffic February 14-20, 2016

 

NOTE: The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association will be passing through town on IH 35 on Friday, Feb. 12 around 9:50 a.m. There will be approximately 70 riders traveling northbound and heading to the State Cemetery to lay a wreath at the gravesite of Chief Petty Officer Chris Kyle. There will be no road closures.

 

LP 82/SAN MARCOS SPRINGS DR/AQUARENA SPRINGS: Feb. 15 – 18 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, Aquarena Springs Dr. (Loop 82) west bound right lane will be closed from approximately 500’ west of San Marcos Springs Drive (Laurel Ridge Road) through Charles Austin Drive for the removal and installation of a water line. At least one lane of traffic in both directions will remain open at all times. Drivers can expect delays with no detours. TxDOT/Texas State University, 512.245.2202

 

L0OP 82/CHARLES AUSTIN:  The outside westbound right lane, east of Charles Austin, will be closed to install a water line on February 15 – 18 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. TxDOT, 512.619.4676

 

800-900 BLOCK W MLK: There will be a partial lane closure at 913 MLK to replace a sewer main on February 16 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m., weather permitting. City of San Marcos Water Wastewater Dept., 512.393.8010

 

WONDER WORLD DRIVE: One lane closure for reinstallation of damaged power pole at Wonder World and Leah Dr. on Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. City of San Marcos Electric Utility Dept., 512.393.8302

 

YARRINGTON RD: Two inside lanes north and south of Yarrington Road Bridge will be closed for road maintenance Feb. 14 – 18 from 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. TxDOT, 737.600.3137

 

YARRINGTON RD: One lane west-bound will be closed sporadically for repairing the inlet on Feb. 1 – 19 from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Casto Lopez Concrete, 512.351.6316

 

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430

 

LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:

  • CENTERPOINT/TANGER PREMIUM OUTLET INTERSECTION:  The intersection will be under construction for a new traffic signalization project and is scheduled for completion Spring 2016. There will be alternating lane closures at the mall entrances during the day. Pedestrian movement may be altered due to ramp and sidewalk modifications. City of San Marcos Traffic Dept., 512.393.8034
  • HOLLAND/MOORE ST: Beginning Monday, February 15 at 7 a.m. Moore Street at Holland will be closed to correct traffic flow issues and to make enhancements to the Holland St. entrance into the Speck garage; however, the east entrance into Speck Garage on Academy St. will remain open. Moore St. and the Holland St. entrance into the garage will reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday May 23.
  • NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
  • 817 CHESTNUT ST: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through June 2, 2016. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469.236.0922
  • MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until early 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
