San Marcos Weekly Traffic Update

Projects affecting San Marcos traffic May 3 – 9, 2015
 
HUNTER RD: The next phase of the Hunter Road widening project continues through May 2015. Construction includes street widening and the installation of new water, wastewater and drainage pipe. Traffic will be one-way northbound on Hunter between Dixon and Bishop. Southbound traffic will detour at Bishop, Craddock and Wonder World. Residents along Hopkins south of Bishop will be able to access their homes by taking Bishop to Belvin and back to Hopkins. TxDOT, 512.393.8235
 
NORTH MITCHELL ST: North Mitchell Street from Belvin Street to Hopkins Street will be closed in both directions for event parking May 9 at 5:30 p.m. through May 10 at 12:30 a.m. Barricades and other traffic control devices will be present. RR 12 AT CRADDOCK AVE: One lane closure on the eastbound shoulder of RR 12 for new water line extension May 6 through June 10, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with the exception of weekends. Street will be passable to regular traffic. P2MjG, 832.690.2572
 
IH-35 AT YARRINGTON: Nightly lane closures May 6 – 7, 2015 for continuing roadway construction. The northbound middle lane will be closed May 6, and the southbound middle lane will be closed May 7. On both nights, all lanes will be diverted to the frontage road. TxDOT, 512.585.3540
 
NORTH LBJ AT YOUNGER: Reconstruction of N.LBJ will continue until end of June 2015 in conjunction with the N.LBJ reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. 110 E. MLK DRIVE: All lanes in both directions will be closed on May 1, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. for the Fight Night Event. Barricades and traffic control will be present. TLAA, 361.935.0764
 
1401 THORPE LN: Various lanes will be closed for sidewalk construction through May 8, 2015 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Street will be passable to all regular traffic and emergency vehicles. City of San Marcos Water Wastewater Dept., 512.393.8010
 
VICTORY GARDENS NEIGHBORHOOD: Milling and overlay 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Victory Gardens for the following streets: Hines, Invasion, Jones, Knox, Marshall, Nimitz, Reyes, Stillwell and Ellis. All streets will be passable to traffic. Vehicles should be parked off the street or they may be towed at owners’ expense. Please drive slowly, use caution in the work zone and obey all appropriate signage and flaggers. Project length estimate is 4 – 6 weeks depending on weather. ALTO AT MIDWAY: Construction will be performed until May 2, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. causing all lanes in both directions to be closed. M&C Fonseca Construction, Inc. 830.596.1754
 
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
 
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
  • MOORE STREET: Moore Street is closed from Read to Holland Street until 2016 for dormitory construction. Texas State University FPDC, 512.245.2202
  • NORTH LBJ: Until July of 2015. Reconstruction project for street, sidewalk, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. Motorists will be detoured one way northbound on LBJ from Forest to Holland Streets and will use Chestnut as a southbound route during construction. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
  • TxDOT HUNTER ROAD (FM 2439) PROJECT: Lane closures on Hunter Road between Wonder World Drive and Bishop Street for road, bridge, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian improvements through the Fall 2015. TxDOT, 512.282.2113 or City of San Marcos CIP/ Engineering, 512.393.8130.
