According to Texas Roadhouse employees, Sherbert had just finished her shift at Texas Roadhouse and had made the turn-around on Wonder World and entered onto I-35 North.

Several of the employees saw the emergency vehicles on I-35, however they were unaware that the accident involved their friend and co-worker.

Investigators believe that she may have been texting just before the collision, however, SMPD has yet to determine the speed of the two vehicles involved and the investigation continues. The northbound traffic had been slowed due to current nightly road construction.

Two of the northbound lanes were blocked until about 4:30 a.m. Friday while investigators worked the scene.

The SMPD Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate.
