SBC Tournament Bracket Set, Bobcats To Face Chanticleers In First Round

The Chanticleers scored exactly 10 minutes into the match that took place in Conway, South Carolina.

San Marcos – The Sun Belt Conference Tournament bracket was finalized after Georgia Southern and Troy faced off today. The Texas State soccer team enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will face Coastal Carolina in the first round on Wednesday.

Taking place at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama, the Bobcats and Chanticleers will kickoff at 4 p.m. The winner of the match will take on either Troy or Georgia Southern in the semifinals that starts at 7 p.m.

On the other side of the bracket and starting the tournament off is No. 4 seed Arkansas State and No. 5 Little Rock. The battle of Arkansas schools’ winner will face either South Alabama, the regular season champion, or Appalachian State in the semifinals that is slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff.

TXST fell to CCU 1-0 on Sept. 15 for the second straight year in this season’s regular season contest. The Chanticleers scored exactly 10 minutes into the match that took place in Conway, South Carolina. That would be the last goal that the Bobcats would surrender until 30 days later, spanning 560:55 minutes on the pitch, at Little Rock.

All-time in the SBC Tournament, TXST is 2-3 with wins coming in 2013 and 2014 to advance to the semifinals each time. The Bobcats fell in the first round in 2015 to Georgia State 2-1 that took place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Every tournament match will be streamed on ESPN3 and live stats will be available.
